Weathering & Erosion
Wait a Minute! What IS a Landform???
In order for us to understand how weathering and erosion work together to shape the Earth, we must first understand what a landform is. Watch the video below to find out.
Now browse around to learn more about specific landforms found on Earth.
How are Landforms Formed?
Landforms are shaped by several different factors. "Tectonic plate movement under the Earth can create landforms by pushing up mountains and hills. Erosion by water and wind can wear down land and create landforms like valleys and canyons. Both processes happen over a long period of time, sometimes millions of years." -National Geographic

So what are weathering and erosion???
"Weathering and erosion slowly chisel, polish, and buff Earth's rock into ever evolving works of art-and then wash the remains into the sea.
The processes are definitively independent, but not exclusive. Weathering is the mechanical and chemical hammer that breaks down and sculpts the rocks. Erosion transports the fragments away.
Working together they create and reveal marvels of nature from tumbling boulders high in the mountains to sandstone arches in the parched desert to polished cliffs braced against violent seas." -National Geographic
